About Our Firm

Our locally owned law firm was founded in 2010 by the innovative partnership of Mitchell W. May and Adam M. Perza. Since its inception, May & Perza, P.A., has developed into a reputable, full-service law firm serving clients throughout the State of Delaware.

Our office is located in a charming 1860s Victorian home that was formerly a residence and has since been transformed into a professional office space. With proficiency in family law, elder law and estate planning, small business, bankruptcy, and real estate law, we’re devoted to providing legal support that addresses various needs in our community and beyond.

Mitchell May

Mitch May is a partner at May & Perza and practices primarily in the areas of Estate Law and Elder Planning, Family Law, and Real Estate. Admitted to practice in 2002, he has been helping clients navigate their legal issues for more than 20 years. Mitch works hard to help his clients toward a solution that meets their goals based on the circumstances of their individual case.

Mitch graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice from The George Washington University and completed his juris doctorate at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. After graduating from law school, Mitch was a law clerk in the Court of Common Pleas in Kent and Sussex Counties.

Adam Perza

Adam Perza is a partner of May & Perza. A past president of the Kent County Bar Association and past vice president of the Delaware State Bar Association, Adam remains active in the community. Adam was a law clerk to Justice James T. Vaughn during his tenure on Delaware Superior Court. In 2012 Adam was elected to Dover City Council representing Dover’s Second District.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Adam was an environmental engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, engaged in Superfund site remediation. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in environmental engineering, and completed his juris doctorate at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
